MoVes, adds + ChaNGes Level 3 Looks to Gee Level 3 Communications Inc. recently appointed Garrett Gee as its new channel chief. Gee had been serving as the interim chief since late May, when Michael Jerich resigned from the post to take a job as chief commercial officer for IntelePeer. Gee has more than eight years of indirect channel experience. Most recently, he was senior director of national sales for Level 3 and was part of the development and launch of the carrier's first agent program in 2006. He also was part of the January 2013 relaunch of Level 3's partner program following the merger with Global Crossing. During his tenure at Level 3, Gee has held leadership roles in sales engineering and national sales, overseeing the technical support, sales and business development for the Level 3 partner community. He now leads the Level 3 Partner Program, which encompasses the channel partner, solution provider and referral programs, overseeing all aspects, including sales, sales engineering, partner experience, business operations and partner programs. ShoreTeL PromoTeS SVP To Ceo Unified communications provider ShoreTel named Don Joos to fill the role of president and CEO. Joos has been with ShoreTel since April 2011, when he joined the company as vice president of global services. For the past year, he was senior vice president of business operations, overseeing about half of the company's operations through the direct management of engineering/R&D, product management, global support and services, IT, quality and operations. ShoreTel said Joos was instrumental in evolving the company's business strategy, which is focused on providing a simple unified communications platform to customers via a premises, hosted or hybrid offering. EarthLink announced the deal in June and closed it in July. CenterBeam provides remote managed IT services primarily to multilocation midsized businesses, and operates an IT support center providing help desk, desktop technical support and application support services. The center is staffed by about 140 IT specialists and engineers who now join the EarthLink team. EarthLink is offering CenterBeam's 365+ Enterprise Cloud service, Unified End Point Management and Help Desk solutions through its distribution channels. JuniPer Ceo CaLLS iT a Day Kevin Johnson, who has served as CEO of Juniper Networks for the past five years, is retiring. Johnson came to Juniper from Microsoft, where he had worked for 16 years. Resellers and MSPs are able to sell the company's security, network infrastructure and other enterprise-centric products. Johnson will leave the company once a successor is named. Juniper has hired an executive recruiting firm to help find Johnson's replacement.
