A new report from researchers at Ovum says the enterprise Ethernet services market will exceed $62 billion by 2018, with a 13.6 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Ethernet services revenue grew from $26.5 billion in 2011 to $29.1 billion in 2012. Ovum expects the 2013 total to be $33.8 billion, up another 16 percent. Regionally, look for steady growth in North America, at 11 percent per year through 2018. ComCaST SiGnS SynneX aS maSTer aGenT SYNNEX Corp. will become the first IT distributor to serve as a master agent for Comcast Business, delivering Ethernet, Internet, voice, cloud and TV solutions through its network of 30,000 VARs. Under the agreement, Comcast will become a strategic supplier of fixed-line services for SYNNEX's mobility, communications and networking services distribution practice, MOBILITYSolv, which was announced in April. SYNNEX is not the first IT distributor to add wireline services. What may be different about this deal is the level of investment SYNNEX has made. "They are the first distributor that we've worked with to build a master agency with dedicated people to support the channel to sell network services," said Craig Schlagbaum, vice president of indirect sales for Comcast Business.
